Was Satan around at the time of Adam and Eve and was he responsible for the snake?

The Bible says that the angels (including Satan) were created long before man’s appearance..."at the ‘founding of the earth’ (they) began shouting in applause.” (Job 38:4-7)

Jesus said that "The Devil...was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him." (John 8:44)

So because the Bible identified Satan as "the original serpent" (Rev. 12:9), Satan must have used the mouth of a serpent, when lying and deceiving Adam and Eve. (Genesis 2:17; 3:4)
