Can the Genesis account and Adam and Eve be believed?

It is noteworthy that Jesus believed in the Genesis account:

Matthew 19:4-6: “Did you not read, that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female?"

Jesus’ disciples also believed the Genesis account of creation. Luke’s Gospel account traces Jesus’ genealogy all the way back to Adam. (Luke 3:23-38)

The New Testament validates Genesis and the Old Testament throughout. Hebrews Chapter 11 is just one of many examples.

2 Tim. 3:16 says that "All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness."

And deeply studying it can bring great enlightenment:

"Ponder over these things; be absorbed in them, that your advancement may be manifest to all [persons]. (1 Tim. 4:15)

"If you keep seeking for it as for silver, and as for hid treasures you keep searching for it, in that case...you will find the very knowledge of God." (Prov. 2:4,5)
