Is smoking a sin? Can you be a good Christian and be a smoker?

The Bible does not specifically address smoking. However, it does provide some principles that offers an answer:

No one disputes that smoking is bad for your health. The Bible says: "Let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of [the] flesh." (2 Corinthians 7:1)

Also, second-hand smoke is harmful to others. The Bible says: "You must love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:39)
